Why I started
The Rewind Edit
I grew up recording mix tapes, blowing into cartridges that "just needed it," and getting genuinely excited when someone didn’t decide to make a phone call right in the middle of an important conversation on Mirc. Somewhere between then and a phone that does literally everything, tech got smarter, but also got way less fun.
The Rewind Edit started as a personal rabbit hole: hunting down the gear that defined growing up in the 80s, 90s and 00s, and realizing a lot of it never really disappeared completely. Alongside some revival finds, there's a whole new generation of products built by people who clearly remember what made that era great.
This is a small, curated list of the stuff that makes me go back in time, but also makes me slow down and enjoy more the moment.
If you know exactly what a dial-up tone sounds like without hearing it, welcome home.

Got a favorite piece of tech I should track down? A gadget you'd trade your firstborn to find again? A brand that made your childhood what it was? A new piece of tech that could be somehting we had back in the days? This list only gets better with more people like you curating this edit.
How we operate
The Rewind Edit is a participant in various affiliate marketing programs, including the Amazon Associates Program, the eBay Partner Network, and the Etsy Affiliate Program, among others. This means that if you click on a link to one of these retailers and make a purchase, The Rewind Edit may earn a small commission, at no additional cost to you.
Every product featured on this site is selected because I genuinely believe in it, not because of the commission it might generate. Affiliate relationships never influence which products are chosen or how they're described.
Thank you for supporting The Rewind Edit. It helps keep this timecaspule (and the hunt for great 80s/90s/00s tech) going.
